Mahon is the capital of Menorca islamd and also known as Mao for the locals. Located at the eastern coastal part, is the largest city of the island with inhabitants reach up to around 30,000. Mahon town itself is a great tourist attraction and it is also a good base from which to explore the rest of Menorca. Mahon is defenetly a great place for a holiday in Menorca Spain. It is a large town with a vibrant atmosphere where you can enjoy many hours of sightseein great tourist attraction. There are some wonderful historic buildings, churches and museums. Mahon town offers a wide range of hotels and other types of accommodation,
a large number of local restaurants and bars, retailers to satisfy almost all shoppers and a lively nightlife spots. |
Very closed to Mahon you can find the Punta Prima, Cala Pedera and Es Grau beachs with fine white sand to one side and rocks to the other. Menorca Airport located approximately 4.5 kms from Mahon. To get to the airport from Mahon, take the PM-704. Turn onto the PM-702, making sure you follow the 702-2, which is the access road to the airport. The "Airport to Mahon Bus Station" coach takes you to the bus station in the city centre from where you can catch various lines to other towns on Menorca. First bus leaves the airport at 05.55 until 22:30. From Mahon they start at 05:45.
