An unspoilt and calm little island,
Menorca is a paradise for those looking for peace, sand and sunshine.
Perfect
weather for holidaymakers, the island's easy-going spirit, traditional feel and fabulous beaches and coves attract everyone from families to couples
Menorca (Minorca) has a Mediterranean
weather with 315 days of sunshine a year. The average summer high temp is around 30º, which this often rises in the middle of August, and the humidity is usually about 70-77% even in the winter. Winters here are mild and often sunny, but the high humidity and strong winds that come down through France can sometimes make it feel cold and damp.
Menorca is sometimes called the "windy isle" as there are eight different winds, with the north wind or
tramontana being the most prevalent and blowing 150 days a year. The sea temperature is often warmer than the air averaging at 21°C in June and October and 25°C in July and August, the sea is a crystal clear and a beautiful cobalt blue.
Menorca often lives in the shadow of its larger neighbour Mallorca, but it seems quite happy with that position, preferring to keep to its own style. Usually
holidays on Menorca are different, quieter, more relaxing and perhaps a little more stylish. Many Spanish tourists prefer to visit Menorca and as such it retains a more traditional, local feel
